It has been a long time coming for the group and TEUMEs.
On Thursday, June 11, members and fans of the Korean pop boy band TREASURE achieved a major milestone in their over six-year-long run.
This, as the decet was able to finally clinched its first-ever win in any music show after taking home the trophy from the 933rd episode of the program M Countdown on Korean cable music channel Mnet.
This week, the group was nominated for their recently-released single If I and competed against aespa, who had just also made their comeback with Lemonade.
TREASURE was ultimately named the winner of the episode with a total of 6,328 points, while aespa recorded 6,001 points.
Members ultimately went both emotional and hyped up as they thanked everyone who had helped them achieve this milestone.
It was last June 1 when TREASURE made their comeback with their fourth mini-album New Wav, which sees the team full embrace hip-hop as their sound.
Aside from If I, also included in the said album are also included in the band’s latest mini-album are Zoom Zoom, Nally-Na (난리나), and Danger.
TREASURE is currently composed of 10 members —Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Jaehyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Jeongwoo, and Junghwan — who made their debut in 2020, a year after the original 12-member line-up was formalized through the survival show YG Treasure Box.
Since then, the team has released singles like Boy, I Love You, Mmm, Jikjin, Bona Bona, and more.
Last April, they brought their Pulse On concert tour to the Philippines, which they staged at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
