Offering Filipino travelers a seamless ride to the popular winter destination.
In its press statement, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced that it will be resuming the nonstop flights between Manila and Sapporo later this year.
The direct, nonstop flights to the north Japanese town will be operating three times weekly between November 23, 2026 and March 26, 2027.
The service, which will run between Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) and New Chitose Airport (CTS), eliminates the need for multiple connections, significantly reducing travel time for travelers.
Specifically, the morning departures from Manila and midday arrivals in Sapporo, paired with convenient afternoon return flights, ensure an efficient and well-timed journey in both directions, the airline noted.
PAL will deploy its A321neo aircraft on the route, which will deliver a full-service travel experience for flyers.
Passengers can expect Business Class seating, inflight entertainment, Wi-Fi connectivity, and thoughtfully curated onboard service
The resumption of the Manila and Sapporo service coincides with one of the busiest times of the year.
Sapporo, an emerging as a compelling winter alternative to Japan’s traditional holiday destinations, offers snowy landscapes, seasonal festivals, and a more relaxed atmosphere.
The city also features highlights like the Snow Festival and a rich culinary scene.
For frequent Japan visitors, the route also opens up a new way to experience the country during the year-end travel season.
PAL offers the largest network of destinations between the Philippines and Japan, with nonstop services to Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Tokyo Haneda, and Tokyo Narita.
It also has direct flights from Cebu to Osaka Kansai and Tokyo Narita.
In time for the Christmas and peak holiday travel period, the flag carrier will also increase flight frequencies on its Manila-Osaka and Manila-Narita routes from December 19 to January 11.
In addition, the route will support growing cargo demand between Japan and the Philippines.
