It has been quite a journey for the couple.
On Thursday, May 21, online and TV personality Alex Gonzaga and Lipa City councilor Mikee Morada made a special announcement on social media.
Ending months-long speculations about them, the two finally announced to the public that they are expecting a child.
In the clip, uploaded on Gonzaga’s social media pages, she looked back on one moment from a previous vlog, when Mikee said that he is contented even if it was only the both of them.
“Kahit tayong dalawa lang… masaya (tayo),” he said.
They then looked back on the past miscarriages that they experienced in the span of their married life before looking forward to a new gift that they received.
In the latter part, Alex and Mikee were seen happy in white as the online and TV personality proudly showed her baby bump to the world for the first time, with the couple ending it with a kiss.
In the caption, Alex shared the challenges that they faced in the past six years of their marriage.
“After almost 6 years of marriage and 3 heartbreaking losses, we never lost faith and continued to surrender everything to the Lord,” she said.
Alex then revealed that they have already sought to undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) when they received the news that they have conceived their baby, whose gender they have not revealed yet.
“While preparing for IVF, the Lord Jesus blessed us with a natural pregnancy,” she continued.
The couple then thanked everyone who have prayed, hoped, and supported them through their entire journey of becoming parents.
“By God’s grace, our prayers have been answered, and we are finally going to be mommy and daddy,” they happily shared.
