This is according to the data from an analytics firm.
In the monthly On-Time Performance Report published by the aviation analytics firm Cirium, it noted that two airlines from the Philippines were among the most-punctual in the Asia Pacific region for the month of April.
Taking on the fifth spot in the list of ten is the budget carrier Cebu Pacific (5J), which had an on-time arrival rate of 84.98% on its 12,290 flights that month.
In a statement, Cebu Pacific Chief Operations Officer Javier Massot said, “This recognition reflects the discipline and teamwork of our people across the network, who work tirelessly every day to keep our operations running efficiently.”
He added, “At Cebu Pacific, we remain focused on delivering operational excellence so our passengers can enjoy a smooth and reliable travel experience every time they fly with us.”
Meanwhile, flag carrier Philippine Airlines came in eighth, with an 83.45% on-time arrival rate across the 10,265 flights it mounted for April.
Leading the pack is Singapore Airlines (SQ), which landed the first spot with 87.52% on-time arrival rate, followed by Garuda Indonesia (GA) at number 2, Scoot (TR) at number 3, Malaysia Airlines (MH) at number 4.
Also in the top 10 are Qantas (QF) at number 6, Virgin Australia at number 7, Jeju Air (7C) at number 9, and ANA (NH) at number 10.
Aside from carriers the firm also monitored the punctuality of airports around the world for that month.
In the Philippines, Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) made it to the Top 20 of the Most On-Time Medium Sized Airports around the world, getting an 83.09% rating for April, with an average departure delay score of 45.
Leading the said list are the Panama City Tocumen International Airport (PTY), Changchun Longija Airport (CGQ), Tijuana Imtenrtaional Airport (TIJ), Osaka Itami International Airport (ITM), and Brasilla International Airport (BSB), which took the number 1 to 5 spots.
