More than PHP5 million will be saved by PUV operators.
Public utility vehicle (PUV) operators using the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) will save more than P5 million after President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered a three-month suspension of the payment of terminal fees, effective May 18, 2026.
Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Banoy Lopez has recommended the suspension of terminal fees at PITX to ease the hardship of PUV operators due to the high price of diesel. This will ensure that they can take home more revenue every day.
The free terminal fees cover all PUVs using PITX, including provincial buses, city buses, modern PUJs, traditional PUJs, UV Express vehicles, and taxis.
“Ang kabilin-bilinan sa atin ng Pangulo, patuloy nating tulungan ang ating mga kasamahang PUV operator at driver. Itong inisyatibong ito ay malaking tulong sa kanila dahil makakatipid sila sa terminal fees na pwede nilang gamiting pangkarga ng krudo o gamitin sa ano mang gastusin nila,” ayon kay Secretary Lopez.
Based on PITX’s terminal fees per onboarding of PUVs, provincial buses pay up to P100, while city buses and UV Express pay P20. The terminal fee for PUJs, Modern PUJs, and taxis is P10.
The free terminal fees at PITX will last for three months, but may be extended depending on the assessment of the DOTr.
