She shared this after she deciding to take her time off her work and recharge.
In a series of posts on social media accounts, actress Xyriel Manabat turned sentimental and let herself vulnerable to her fans and followers online.
Uploading snapshots from her recent trip to Mt. Pinatubo, the 22-year-old former child star opened her lengthy caption with: “I’m still alive, Hallelujah.”
“Magiging senti and vulnerable muna this morning kasi I don’t think I’ll ever fully have the words for how much this meant to me, pero thank you—truly—to everyone who respected my need to step back, who supported me quietly, and who showed so much care during a time I was really struggling,” she continued.
Xyriel also admitted that taking a timeout was not easy for her, but she had to ask for it as she is both exhausted and desperately needing a break.
“Taking (admitting/ acknowledging that I need) mental health break wasn’t easy (lalo na po sa work ko sa dami ng workloads at packed sched), and I asked for it from a place of exhaustion and desperation,” Manabat furthered.
“The kindness, understanding, and patience you all gave me in return… I felt every bit of it. It helped me breathe again. I carry so much gratitude for all of you. Thank you for giving me the space and time to heal,” she added.
The star of the ongoing series The Secrets Of Hotel 88 and the recently released Netflix movie 18th Rose also reflected about how asking for a break was a “brave” thing for her to do for herself.
Xyriel then thanked the people, especially those whom she is working with, for understanding her wanting to take the mential health break.
She also expressed her gratitude to her close friends, including actor Raven Rigor, for being there for her and even joining her in her first hike to Mt. Pinatubo.
