The boyband moves forward with a new lineup.
Last Monday, March 30 (Korea time), the Korean pop group ZEROBASEONE uploaded on its social media a new logo animation based on its shorthand name ZB1.
This new icon makes its debut as the team, which was originally a nine-member project group, has been reorganized as a quintet following the expiration of the contracts of former members Zhang Hao, Ricky, Kim Gyu-vin, and Han Yu-jin.
Now comprising of Kim Ji-woong, Sung Han-bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae-rae, and Park Gun-wook, the team is expected to move forward as a permanent group.
“Based on strong trust, members Sung Han Bin, Kim Ji Woong, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae Rae, and Park Gun Wook have decided to embark on a new season together as ZEROBASEONE,” noted their parent label Wakeone last February after announcing future plans for the group.
It added, “Our company will provide our fullest support to ensure the activities as a five-member group are carried out in a stable manner, while continuing to maintain close communication for the members to grow together as companions on this journey.”
Meanwhile, it also expressed well wishes to the four members, stating “Our company wishes for their bright future and kindly asks that you continue to send your constant love and encouragement to the members as they begin their new paths.”
ZEROBASEONE was formed through the reality-survival competition Boys Planet that same year and released their first extended play titled Youth In Shade, which carried the hit track In Bloom, soon after.
That was later followed by their other EPs, namely Melting Point, You Had Me At Hello, and Blue Paradise.
Last February 2, they released the special album entitled Re-Flow, which is their last record as a nine-member line-up.
