It does not only act as a family bonding, but also their way of reflecting on the solemn occasion.
In a post on his Instagram account, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes shared what they did for Easter Sunday.
Uploading snapshots of him, Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera, and their children Zia and Sixto during their trip to Japan, he wrote, “It’s slowly becoming an Easter tradition for us to sit down and write our dreams, wishes, prayers, and reflections. For ourselves, for each other, and even for the world around us.“
“This year, we did the same, together in a quiet place that allowed us to slow down and just be present,” he continued.
In their letters, the 45-year-old actor shared that he appreciated how the views of their children are slowly starting to take shape.
“You notice it in what they choose to say, in how they see things. And somehow, their answers now carry a kind of insight that catches you off guard,” he added.
Dingdong revealed that one wished for the “war to stop,” which reminding him how children see the world without filters, “just with hope.”
Meanwhile, the other, he said, talked about broccoli. “Apparently, he now appreciates it because I once told him I had to eat a lot of it to stay healthy enough to become his dad. Now he wishes for everyone to be healthy… so people can live longer.“
But what really struck him was when they said, “Thank you for the sacrifice, Dad and Mom.” According to him, it is a message that, as parents, “hits differently.”
“Because most days, you’re just working, moving, doing what needs to be done, hoping they understand. I’m grateful to my wife for always helping them see that, for reminding them why we do what we do,” he told.
Dantes continued, “And in that moment, it made me reflect on something bigger than us. That the greatest sacrifice has already been made. That’s the reason we are here. The reason we are saved. The reason we keep going.”
“And now that He has risen, maybe this is our reminder to leave behind what weighs us down and rise with Him,” he added.
Concluding his post, he wrote, “With renewed faith. With the dreams of our children. With all our prayers. Happy Easter.”
Dingdong and Marian are currently doing their respective projects with GMA.
