The actor is set to begin his mandatory service next month.
On Wednesday, March 25, Korean talent management agency OUTERUNIVERSE announced that Korean actor Kim Young Dae will be enlisting in the military this spring season.
In a short statement, as reported by entertainment website Soompi, it told, “Kim Young Dae will enlist this coming April.”
The company added, “he will fulfill his duty to the country as an active-duty soldier,” with the actor’s discharge date expected to happen around October 2027.
The news of his enlistment comes months after his portrayal of Yun Jun-seo in the hit series Dear X, as well as his special participation in the Netflix drama Boyfriend On Demand.
Young Dae gained popularity for his role in the 2020 revenge drama series The Penthouse as Joo Seok Hoon, who is the other half of the ‘Joo twins.’
He has then starred in other series such as Extraordinary You, Cheat On Me If You Can, and Sh**ting Stars, where he was casted as the male lead Gong Tae Sung opposite Lee Sung Kyung’s Oh Han Byul.
His other projects are The Forbidden Marriage, Moon In The Day, No Gain No Love, Perfect Family, and To The Moon.
