NCT’s Taeyong finishes mandatory military service

Through Instagram on Sunday, December 14, Korean pop star Taeyong of the boy band NCT delighted fans with his latest update.

This, as the 30-year-old completed his 20-month-long mandatory military service. In his photos, he was seen hugging his family, posing in front of the station, sharing his memorabilia items, and other images that he took during his conscription.

He captioned the said post with the date of his enlistment, which is April 15, 2024 and his discharge date on December 14, 2025.

Taeyong served as cultural promotion soldier and taking part in the Navy Band and Honor Guard, and joined performances and other ceremonial duties of the Navy.

Meanwhile, this development also makes him the first member of NCT to finish the military program, with other members remaining in service being Jaehyun, Doyoung, and Jungwoo—with the latter two only having entered only last Monday, December 8.

Taeyong is part of the sub-unit NCT 127, which is known for their songs like Cherry Bomb, Touch, Kick It, Sticker, and Favorite (Vampire), among others.

He is also a soloist, having debut in 2023 with the extended play SHALALA, which was followed by the second mini-album, TAP, in 2024.
