Philippines ends AYG 2025 campaign with 24 medal-haul

As the third iteration of the Asian Youth Games concludes in Bahrain, the Philippines is also ending its successful run in the regional meet.

Team Philippines finished the AYG 2025 with a 12th place standing in the overall ranking, clinching a  a total of 24 medals—7 of which are gold, another 7 are silver, while 10 are bronze.

Just as the country was wrapping up, Pinay Jiu-Jitsu contender Isabella Joseline Butler added her gold to that count afrer winning in in the Girls – 63kg category.

The 17-year-old warrior dominated UAE’s Aysha Aljneibi via submission, which the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) described as “a golden finish worthy of the final spotlight!”

Meanwhile, another strong end to the country’s successful run in the regional tournament were Mara-Alexandria Sarinas, who clinched bronze in the Girls – 57kg division of Jiu-jitsu.

Leo Mhar Lobrido of Negros Occidental, who battled in the Boys 46kg category of boxing, was able claim to bronze a bronze medal.

“The competitions may have ended, but the journey continues! Keep reaching for greatness and carrying the flag higher, young champions!”, the PSC added in its statement.
