It was an “amicable” decision between the both of them.
Through their respective agencies, Star Magic and Viva Artists Agency, celebrity couple Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto publicly announced the end of their six-year relationship.
The Kapamilya talent management company wrote, “Star Magic confirms that Gerald Anderson and Julia Barretto have mutually decided to end their relationship. We request the public to respect their decision and refrain from spreading false narratives. Gerald and Julia are grateful to their fans and friends for the love and support.”
Meanwhile, the other side expressed, “On behalf of our artist, Viva Artists Agency confirms that Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson have mutually and amicably parted ways for some time now.”
VAA also clarified that the circulating speculations in recent weeks regarding the reason for their breakup are “unfounded and baseless.”
“We emphasize that only information coming directly from Julia or Gerald should be regarded as accurate, as they are the primary parties involved. Any other claims are merely attempts to ride on the issue or to spread false information,” it ended.
The statements put end to the months-long swirling rumors about the status of the two stars.
Anderson himself, during an interview with Toni Gonzaga back in June, intially denied their separation.
“No, we’re okay. Kanina hinatid ko siya sa airport,” said Anderson and shared more details about his relationship with Julia, which was his longest-ever.
He said back then, “Yung values na meron siya, ‘yung love na ibinibigay niya, ‘yung support na binibigay niya. It inspires me to be better and give ‘yung 100 percent ko and ‘yung best version ko.”
This was also later followed by Gerald’s suprise guesting on ‘Eat Bulaga,’ where Julia occasionally appear as a co-host. During which, they were seen all smiles and even have a banter with each other.
Gerald and Julia were first linked after doing the movie ‘Between Maybes,’ which hit cinemas back in 2019.
