FAMAS 2025: Vice Ganda, Arjo Atayde, Marian Rivera, and Nadine Lustre win top acting prizes

On Friday, August 22, the 73rd Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Awards was held at the historic landmark that is The Manila Hotel in the City of Manila.

Main hosts at the said event were actress Max Eigenmann and socialite Tessa Prieto.

In this edition, the award-giving body reviewed and recognized movies and personalities that were screened in the past year.

The controversial documentary ‘Alipato at Muog’ took home the Best Picture award, while its director, JL Burgos, also won his category.

‘Mamay’ snagged the most wins with five trophies: Best Cinematography, Production Design, Musical Score, Original Song, and Jeric Raval’s Best Supporting Actor.

Meanwhile, the Best Actor title was shared by Vice Ganda and Arjo Atayde for their respective roles in ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’ and ‘Topakk’—two entries to the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) in 2024.

Marian Rivera then took home this year’s Best Actress award for her portrayal in the Cinemalaya 2024 entry ‘Balota’.

Nadine Lustre emerged on top of her own category as she won the Best Supporting Actress trophy for ‘Uninvited,’ which was also an entry to the 50th MMFF.

Her contemporary, Kathryn Bernardo, took the Bida Sa Takilya award, alongside ‘Hello, Love, Again’ co-star Alden Richards.

Special awardees during the ceremony include Vilma Santos, Lorna Tolentino, Judy Ann Santos, and Gladys Reyes, among many others.

  • Film Producer of the Year – Mentorque, Inc.
  • Bida sa Takilya Award – Kathryn Bernardo, Alden Richards
