It has gone from a satellite television provider to a major force in local media.
On Friday, July 25, Cignal began utilizing its new corporate logo, which succeeds its previous logo that was first introduced back in 2013.
In the revamped look, the company continued with its red color scheme, although it has put the emphasis on the letter ‘C’ that has an orange semi-circle, mimicking a smily face, as its primary insignia.
It is somewhat a contrast to its past logos since 2009 that used the lowercase “i” to symbolize its core satellite television business.
Perhaps, it is only fitting, as the company also launched concurrent to the new logo its thrust, “Stories That Connect Us,” reflecting its growth into a multi-platform company.
Under the Cignal group are the namesake satellite TV business, its affordable direct-to-home (DTH) service SatLite, the streaming services Cignal Play, Pilipinas Live, and Cignal Super, as well as the Android box Cignal Play TV.
Cignal is one of the assets under the Mediaquest Holdings, Inc., which is in turn owned by the PLDT group.
Its sister companies under the said umbrella include the free-to-air television networks TV5 and One Sports, the broadcast radio arm True FM, and a stake in the print publications Philippine Star and BusinessWorld, among many others.
