The couple shared this in a social media post.
On Friday, July 25, Kapamilya stars Elisse Joson and Mccoy de Leon jointly announced through a reel uploaded via Instagram the status of their relationship.
Written in the point-of-view of Elisse, the open letter began with her saying that building her own family was her “biggest dream.”
“My biggest dream in life has always been to build a family I could call mine. A home. That dream shaped us. It grounded us. And for all the beautiful five years (and more) that we were together, we held onto that dream with everything we had,” she told.
Adding, “We made that promise..to love, to fight, to stay. And truthfully, we both tried. We both held on for as long as we could.”
However, the actors continued that they have already begun the process of letting go and “releasing that dream” to finally allow peace, growth, and healing to enter their lives.
“And letting go doesn’t mean we failed.
Because what we had was real. And it gave us the greatest gift… Our Felize,” she underscored.
“There are moments when she (Felize) wraps her arms around us and says, ‘My family belongs to me.’ And she will always be right. No matter how life changes, we will always belong to her. Her mommy. Her daddy. Her family. That will never ever change,” Elisse and Mccoy’s post furthered.
The now ex-couple then expressed that their decision to share the status of their relationship was to “honor what was” and give space for healing.
They also pleaded that there is no need for speculations and assumptions, saying, “This wasn’t easy for either of us. We simply ask for kindness and respect as this story, and how it’s remembered, may one day shape what our daughter believes about love, family, and letting go.“

with love, respect, and no regrets,” the showbiz personalities ended their joint statement.
Elisse and Mccoy first met as housemates in the reality show ‘Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7,’ which aired in 2016.
After the show ended its run, it was not immediately made clear what the status of their relationship was.
However, they reportedly first broken up just two years later. But they were then able to patch things up over a year later, which led to Elisse getting pregnant and giving birth to Felize in 2021.
But the pair known as ‘McLisse’ faced another challenge anew, when reports spread about Mccoy’s alleged relationship with another woman in 2023.
However, after that, both Mccoy and Elisse reunited and even starred together in ‘FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,’ although their characters were not seen together on-screen as Elisse portrayed the younger version of Tindeng, which is the present-day grandmother of Mccoy’s David.
