One that changed her life’s trajectory.
Through an video posted on her social media account last Thursday, June 19, ‘Eat Bulaga’ host Maine Mendoza revisited her audition from exactly 10 years ago.
The TV personality included in the clip her present-day look as a 30-year-old co-presenter of the Philippines’ longest-running noontime variety program and her 20-year-old self auditioning for a role in one of the show’s segments.
In her old tape, Maine delivered the spiels that were, “Ako po si Maine Mendoza, ang pinakabago ninyong aabangan sa Eat Bulaga!“
She then updated it, saying, “Ako po si Maine Mendoza, legit Dabarkads since 2015.“
As of writing, the post has already amassed 68,000 likes on her Instagram account.
Maine Mendoza joined ‘Eat Bulaga’ in July 2015 as the fictional character Yaya Dub for the segment ‘Problem Solving.’
During a split-second magic that month, the team-up between her and Alden, called AlDub, was formed and gave birth to the iconic ‘KalyeSerye’ portion, which brought ‘Eat Bulaga’ to a historic 50% TV rating during the ‘Tamang Panahon’ concert in October 2015.
She then ventured into acting, bagging roles in the movies ‘My Bebe Love,’ ‘Imagine You and Me,’ ‘Jack Em Popoy Puliscredibles,’ ‘Isa Pa With Feelings,’ the television series ‘Destined To Be Yours,’ and sitcom ‘Daddy’s Gurl.’
