The group is officially back with their latest mini-album.
On Tuesday, April 15, all-female Korean pop group UNIS released their newest extended play titled ‘Swicy,’ derived from the words ‘spicy’ and ‘sweet’.
According to a report by OSEN, the title was chosen as it reflects the mix of flavors that this comeback promises to show.
The music video for the album’s namesake lead track, ‘Swicy,’ was also dropped concurrent to the mini-album.
As of writing, it has already garnered little less than 300,000 views on the video-sharing platform YouTube.
The 8-member musical team based in South Korea comprises of Hyeonju, Nana, Kotoko, Yunha, Yoona, Seowon, and Filipina idols Gehlee and Elisia.
Recently, they also celebrated their first anniversary since debuting as a team in March 2024.
The girl group was originally formed via the survival-reality show ‘Universe Ticket,’ which ran until January 2024.
All 8 members that made it to the final line-up then made their debut in March 2024 with their first mini-album ‘We Unis.’
Last October, they brought their ‘Curiousland’ fan-concert in the Philippines, which also happened in the midst of a major weather disturbance.
As a show of their compassion, the band donated part of their proceeds to the victims of Severe Tropical Storm ‘Kristine.’
‘Swicy’ also marks UNIS’ return after their previous comeback with ‘Curious’ in August 2024.
