A new music video from the chart-topping singer-songwriter.
Original Filipino musician (OPM) Maki dropped on Thursday, March 13, the official music video of his single ‘Bughaw.’
Featured in the MV of the song, which was originally released in December 2024, are fellow singers, led by HORI7ON’s Kyler, YGIG’s Alexie Claire, and Zeke Abella.
‘Bughaw’ was first performed live by the singer during his two-night ‘Maki-Concert’ at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City in November 2024.
According to Maki, ‘Bughaw,’ which translates to the color blue, could refer to sadness, but he wants it to remind listeners about the sky and sea.
He also said that tackles friendly love, in contrast to his past songs like ‘Dilaw.’
Prior to its launch to the general public, Maki held a special event called ‘Bughaw Hour’ with his fans, ‘Zushis,’ on Wednesday, March 12.
During the program, the singer-songwriter announced that he will be releasing a full-length album titled ‘Kolor Coaster,’ which will also feature his past hit singles ‘Dilaw’ and ‘Namumula.’
It will also feature his next single, where he will be going black, as it will bear the title ‘Itim Na Ulap.’
Maki went viral on social media in 2023, thanks to his Filipino or English translations of popular Korean pop songs like NewJeans’ ‘Ditto’ and ‘Super Shy,’ and IVE’s ‘After Like.’
He then went on to release his original song ‘Saan?’, which was later followed by ‘Bakit?’ and ‘Kailan?’.
In 2024, he dropped the smash hit single ‘Dilaw,’ which landed him the number 1 spot at the inaugural Billboard Philippines Top 100 chart in July 2024, and ‘Namumula’.
