‘Eat Bulaga’ opens 2025 with renovated studio

‘Dabarkads’ were treated to a surprise change at the start of the year.

‘Dabarkads’ were treated to a surprise change at the start of the year.

On Wednesday, January 1, TV5 noontime show ‘Eat Bulaga’ aired its first live episode in 2025 and to celebrate the beginning of the brand new year, the program also debuted its new studio.

Over the holidays, the Studio 4 at TV5 Media Center in Reliance, Mandaluyong, was reconfigured and refreshed to allow a bigger stage, as well as centralized audience gallery.

Additionally, LED screens were also visibly added to the newly-redesigned stage.

During his spiels, main host Joey de Leon shared that this revamp is their way of starting their 46th year on the air.

“Welcome po to our new home. Same address, pero newly-renovated para mas komportable, mas malaki, at mas maayos na tanghalian na ating pagsasaluhan,” Vic Sotto said.

The renovation of the ‘Eat Bulaga’ set comes exactly 18 months after the TVJ-produced show first began airing on TV5 in July 2023 as ‘E.A.T.’ amid their copyright case versus previous producer Television and Production Exponents (TAPE), Inc.

It was only on January 6, 2024 when the program officially used the name ‘Eat Bulaga’ after the TVJ camp won their suit at the Marikina Regional Trial Court in December 2023.

Last year, rumors sparked that the show was to transfer to a bigger location at the Meralco Theater in Pasig City, but those were neither confirmed, nor denied.

‘Eat Bulaga’ airs Monday to Saturday noontime on TV5.
