Tomorrow, March 30, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm Star Magic will be holding its first-ever ‘Star Magical Prom’.
In the past few weeks, celebrities from Star Magic have been making promposals here and there, with one pair even gaining the attention of top female K-pop group BLACKPINK! Here is a list of artists that will be going to prom together tomorrow night.
Aljon Mendoza and Jayda Avanzado
During a live episode of ‘It’s Showtime’, Aljon surprised Jayda when he asked her to become his prom date during the ‘Isip Bata’ segment. Prior to that, Aljon also sought the approval of Jayda’s mom, Jessa Zaragoza, who also backed the idea. Back to Jayda, she said ‘yes’, with her ninong Ogie Alcasid watching the promposal unfold.
Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin
The ‘Kadenang Ginto’ and ‘Dirty Linen’ co-stars are coming to the prom together. This, as Seth recently asked for Francine’s permission to be his date with a romantic dinner before their respective families.
Harvey Bautista and Bianca de Vera
Harvey, a former ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ star, is all grown-up and will be going to the Star Magic Prom with ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ star Bianca de Vera. Harvey shared that he and Bianca are good friends, so he immediately thought of her to become his prom date when the event was announced.
He made the promposal while shooting for a movie together with Bianca.
Jeremiah Lisbo and Kaori Oinuma
The ‘He’s Into Her’ co-stars are also confirmed to be going as a pair in tomorrow’s prom. Jeremiah made his promposal different by asking Kaori through a ‘whisper challenge’ prank. Upon realizing Jeremiah’s motive and him formally asking her to be his prom date, Kaori said “yes.” It was also revealed that it will be her first time to attend a prom.
Gabb Skribikin and Luke Alford
The former ‘PBB Kumunity Season 10’ housemates are also going to attend the prom together. Quite different from the other promposals, it was actually Gabb who asked Luke to be her date at the prom. She made this during the live telecast of their program on PIE channel.
Rob Blackburn and Maxine Trinidad
Both former ‘Pinoy Big Brother’ housemates are also confirmed to be coming as a pair on the ‘Star Magical Prom’ night. Rob’s promposal literally went above and beyond as he asked her out after going on a short-distance flight together.
Brent Manalo and Vivoree
Brent Manalo’s promposal to Vivoree took place during a mall show for PIE channel, where both of them currently appear as part of the roster of KatroPIEs. Right after Vivoree finished singing her song ‘Matapang’, where Brent became her partner for the song’s music video, he appears and asks her to be his prom date. Vivoree said “yes.”
BINI Aiah and BINI Mikha
While performing at the PUP Solidarity Concert last week, BINI member Aiah formally asked her fellow member Mikha to become her date for tomorrow’s event. Mikha later said an anecdote that she did not understand anything during the promposal itself except for the word “prom”, so she just said “yes.” Anyhow, the two BINI members are going together on prom night.
BINI Sheena and Dustin Mayores
During BINI’s dance rehearsal, ‘PBB’ alum Dustin Mayores sent a message to BINI member Sheena. That, later turned out to be his promposal message to her, with him asking “pwede ba kitang maisayaw?” [“can I dance with you?”] during the prom. BINI Sheena said “yes.”
BGYO
During an event, BGYO’s ‘kapitan’ Gelo gave one rose each to his fellow members and asked them to become his and one another’s prom dates for tomorrow’s prom. While they didn’t explicitly say yes or no to his promposal, the group is still set to come and join the fun tomorrow.
Raven Rigor and Sean Tristan
The ‘Dirty Linen’ and ‘Beach Bros’ co-stars will be together on prom night. Earlier today, Sean promposed to Raven. According to Sean, Raven wanted his first Star Magic prom to be memorable, so he asked him to be his prom date. Raven accepted Sean’s proposal.
Andrea Brillantes and Ricci Rivero
Perhaps, the most memorable promposal of the bunch was made by Andrea Brillantes for her boyfriend athlete-actor Ricci Rivero. While attending the second day of BLACKPINK’s ‘Born Pink’ concert in Bulacan on Sunday, Andrea made the move. During the group’s ment (or talk/fan interaction segment), the banner held to ask Ricci as Andrea’s date was noticed by the BLACKPINK members themselves.
Rosé even asked Rivero himself whether he accepts Andrea’s promposal or not, to whom he nodded as a sign of acceptance.
Andrea later explained that since she is an actress under Star Magic, she was the one who had to do the promposal for Ricci, who is not managed by the talent handling firm.
Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano
While there was no promposal, it is inferred that Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano of the ‘new gen phenomenal love team’ DonBelle will be going together to the prom tomorrow evening.
The ‘Star Magical Prom’ event theme is said to be inspired by the Netlfix series ‘Bridgerton’ and the ‘Regency’ era that it set in.
The prom’s red carpet event will be live streamed online from 6:00 pm onwards, with other highlights expected to be uploaded too thereafter.
