It has been almost nine years since she was last seen on the morning slot.
On Monday, May 11, TV5’s morning show Gud Morning Kapatid kicks off the brand new week with a special appearance from Cheryl Cosim.
The news anchor will be on the program throughout the entire week, as she pinch-hits for host Dimples Romana.
In her banter with hosts Chiqui Roa-Puno, Angela Lagunzad, and Andrei Felix, Cosim shared that it was easy for her to say “yes” to the idea of returning to doing a morning show, a slot she had long been associated with since the days of Alas Singko Y Medya on ABS-CBN.
“Actually, kaya ako napa-oo kaagad (kasi) na-excite ako. Kasi s’yempre, dito ako nagsimula ‘di ba? Talagang alas-tres ng umaga, gising ka na,” she told.
She then jokingly added, “Pero noong na-realize kong singkuwentahin na ako, parang ‘gusto ko ba talagang gawin ‘to sa buong linggo?’“
The Kapatid anchor then joined Andrei and Angela on the news desk for Frontline Sa Umaga.
Prior to her guest appearance on GuMoKa, Cheryl previously hosted other morning shows in the past, including ASYM’s successors Magandang Umaga, Bayan and Magandang Umaga, Pilipinas.
Since joining TV5 in 2010, she has helmed Sapul Sa Singko, Good Morning Club, and the final iteration of Aksyon Sa Umaga from June 2016 to November 2017.
At present, she is seen on a number of programs on the network, led by the flagship newscast Frontline Pilipinas. On sister news channel One PH, she anchors One Balita Pilipinas at noon and the late morning talk program Perfect Mornings.
