The show will make its premiere on GMA on Monday.
Last Friday, May 8, the new GMA action series The Master Cutter, led by Dingdong Dantes, made its premiere on streaming giant Netflix Philippines.
The said show, which is under the direction of Dominic Zapata, is the return of the actor to dramas after the top-rated murder-mystery series Royal Blood in 2023.
Tne second FMA production to follow the streaming first model, its episodes dropped on Netflix three days ahead of their broadcast on free-to-air television via GMA.
Prior to this, the period-action drama Pulang Araw in 2024 was also under the said arrangement.
And it proved to be a success, as the show was able to clinch the number 1 spot in the Top 10 Shows in Netflix Philippines on its premiere weekend, when three episodes have dropped so far.
According to a brief logline shared by the streamer, The Master Cutter is about a former scout ranger who now lives a double life by working as a tailor by day and taking on dangerous bounty hunting jobs on the side.
In the new series, Dantes is joined by Max Collins, whom he had previously worked with in the movie Firefly, and one of the most in-demand Kapuso talents today, Shuvee Etrata, as well as Jo Berry and child star Sienna Stevens.
Aside from them, an cast comprising of award-winning screen veterans and rising stars will be seen in the GMA Drama production, led by Rio Locsin, Tonton Gutierrez, Joey Marquez, Paolo Contis, Ketchup Eusebio, Polo Ravales, Max Eigenmann, Charlie Fleming, and Prince Carlos.
Notably, its premiere will also mark a new era in Philippine TV, as for the first time ever, all dramas at the 8:00 pm slot are streaming ahead of their linear TV airing, as The Master Cutter’s rival shows Blood Vs. Duty (ABS-CBN) and A Secret In Prague are also in a similar set-up.
New episodes of The Master Cutter will drop from Friday to Tuesday at 8:00 pm on Netflix, while it will air from Monday to Friday on GMA Network.
