The members are entering their acting era soon.
On Saturday, May 9, GMA Drama released teasers regarding the upcoming guest artists who will make special participation in the top-rating musical drama series Born To Shine.
In the said clip, the show referenced songs of the the group who will be entering the frame soon, with lines like “tumitigil ang mundo” and “gigil,” as well as an acrostic that read out as “Boys na Guwapo, Young, at Over sa talent.”
To further increase intrigue, they also attached a silhouette of a five men in the backdrop.
In the replies section of the said post, fans have made their guesses as to whom these mysterious male idols are—with them overwhelmingly answering P-pop band BGYO.
Fans, who they call Aces, have expressed their excitement over their upcoming special participation in the series led by singer-actress Zephanie and Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition alum Michael Sager.
At present, the production team has not yet revealed the official date of their first appearance and their exact roles, especially how they will interact with the fictional girl group in the series, Yumi, which comprise of the characters played by Zephanie (as Jeni), Gaea Mischa (as Nancy), Naya Ambi (as Alfea), Mitzi Josh (as Yuna), and Olive May (as Megan).
BGYO was soft-launched back in 2020 as SHA Boys, having been formed through the Star Hunt Academy of ABS-CBN prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The following year, in January 2021, they made their official debut alongside the release of their first single, The Light.
Since then, they have dropped songs like He’s Into Her, When I’m With You, The Baddest, Tumitigil Ang Mundo, and Gigil, among others. Last February, they issued their most-recent single entitled Fresh.
Meanwhile, member JL was also announced this week as one of three judges of the reality-singing competition The Clash Teens, alongside Christian Bautista and Jillian Ward. It will make its premiere this June.
