Backstage at the Billboard Women In Music awarding ceremony in Los Angeles, California, members of the P-pop group BINI interacted with one of their fellow awardees.
The team composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena was conferred the Global Force Award, which was presented to them by Cara Delevingne.
After the event, the group then had an offstage interaction with the one-and-only Mexican actress-singer Thalia, who is well adored by Filipino audiences for her hit drama series in the 1990s that swept the nation, especially Marimar, Maria La Del Barrio, Maria Mercedes, and Rosalinda.
During the evening, she was recognized as an Icon by Billboard.
In several photos and videos, the members and the actress-singer had a lot of fun, as they filmed shortform videos and conversed with each other.
In her Instagram post, Thalia’s wrote in Spanish, “The Philippines is a country that has walked with me through the years, forming part of my history and who I am today. And the love they’ve given Marimar has been just endless…“
“And suddenly, life meets us here, together with the beautiful BINI celebrating love, music and that universal language that connects us no matter borders,” she continued.
“Thank you for so much love, for every hug and for making me feel so loved. Loved meeting you ladies!” exclaimed the Mexican superstar.
In another clip, meanwhile, the girls even gave a sample of Thalia’s iconic “Au!” in Marimar, proving the enduring popularity of the series in the Philippines.
