On Friday, April 24, streaming platform Viva One and Viva Artists Agency officially announced that a new actor has been chosen to play the part of Tripp Palma in the upcoming series Dating Alys Perez.
Chosen to portray the character in the sequel of Seducing Drake Palma and star alongside Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji is up-and-coming actor Zeke Polina, who recently played the lead character of Supremo in Hell University.
This will mark the reunion for the three, who have previously worked together in the hit series Ang Mutya Ng Section E in 2025.
Returning to direct the series is Crisanto Aquino, with the program set to stream starting June 12 exclusively on Viva One.
Earlier this week, it was confirmed that Dylan Menor, who played Tripp Palma in the first book, will not return as he is currently doing another Viva One series, Project Loki, and the TV5 countdown show Vibe.
The story of Seducing Drake Palma, which is based on the Wattpad story created by Beeyotch, follows the central characters Drake Palma (portrayed by Rabin Angeles) and Alys Perez (played by Angela Muji).
Their relationship started with a request from Alys’ friend, Sheen (Ethan David) who wanted her to make the smart but aloof guy her boyfriend as a request and to make Kei (Rafa Victorino) fall for him instead of Drake.
Despite the initial pushback, the leading lady took on the impossible mission and made it a reality. Later on, the facade was broken and the stoic guy fell for her.
While it was still streaming on Viva One, TV5 picked up the rights to broadcast it on free-to-air television and placed it every weeknight after Frontline Pilipinas from July to September 2025.
