In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, April 22, original Filipino music hitmaker Maki shared how shocked he was to know that Wendy, a member of the Korean pop girl group Red Velvet, played his song on her radio program called Youngstreet.

Specifically, Wendy chose to play Maki’s single Turning Green, which is one of the tracks from his recent album entitled Kolorcoaster.

“WHAT DO U MEAN WENDY HEARD MY VOICE AND MENTIONED MY NAME AND MY SONG AND WHAT anO daw,” he expressed his excitement and surprise in his tweet, where he included a clip of Wendy introducing the song.

He then added in his self-reply, “RED VELVET IS AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY NUMBER 1 GIRL GROUP QHAT (sic) DO U MEAN THIS HAPPENED.”

His fans, Zushis, then conveyed their congratulatory message for Maki for achieving this feat.

One noted, “I’m so proud for you Maki! Wendy loves refreshing songs, so happy that she likes Turning Green and she’s been listing to you. I didn’t know you are a Reveluv. This is amazing!”

Others then quipped for Maki and Wendy to have a collaboration.

Maki is known for his successive hit singles such as Dilaw, Namumula, Bughaw—which are all part of Kolorcoaster—as well as his prior songs from Tanong? like Saan, Bakit, and Kailan.

Meanwhile, Wendy is a member of the group Red Velvet, which also has their own set of popular songs led by Psycho, Bad Boy, Red Flavor, Peek-A-Boo, and many more.

She is also a soloist, having dropped her latest extended play Cerulean Verge back in September 2025.
