Two of the premier actresses of their respective generations are teaming up for a project.
On Tuesday, April 14, streaming giant Prime Video announced its slate of upcoming shows in the Philippines.
Among the titles revealed is the project entitled Honor Thy Mother, which will be top-billed by no less than two of the country’s best actresses of their generations—Sharon Cuneta and Barbie Forteza—for the first time.
Joining forces with them in this new series are actors John Estrada and Khalil Ramos.
At present, other information about the project are still kept under wraps, but it is confirmed to be a joint venture between ABS-CBN Studios, its production unit Dreamscape Entertainment, and GMA Network and will make its premiere this September.
In a post on Instagram, Forteza shared a photo of her with Cuneta. The Kapuso star wrote in the caption, “She (Sharon) was the reason why I wanted to become an actress. Dreams do come true.”
She added that she is excited to work with the one-and-only Megastar of Philippine showbiz for the first time.
Honor Thy Mother adds to the long list of collaborations between erstwhile rivals ABS-CBN and GMA Network, as they have teamed up previously for Unbreak My Heart, the movie Hello, Love, Again, and the back-to-back seasons of Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.
At present, the partnership is active, with the simulcast of the Kapamilya noontime program It’s Showtime and the mystery-thriller The Secrets Of Hotel 88.
