On Monday, April 13, ABS-CBN’s talent management arm Star Magic officially announced the newest personality that is joining its growing family.
The multi-awarded actress Janine Gutierrez, who has been a certfied Kapamilya since 2021, is now part of the company.
In its welcome message, the agency said, “We are looking forward to witness you further shine and thrive in your stellar career.”is
In her interview with Metro and ABS-CBN News, she noted that she is excited about this new chapter in her over a decade-long career in showbusiness, adding that the signing of her contract with Star Magic comes at a “perfect time” in her life.
Meanwhile, she also shared that she is looking forward to working with fellow Kapamilya stars Belle Mariano and Joshua Garcia, whom she both praised for being good actors.
Janine comes from a family of veteran actors and showbiz personalities. Her grandmothers are none other than the late National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts Nora Aunor (maternal side) and the late Asia’s Queen of Songs, Pilita Corrales (paternal side). Her grandfathers are Christopher de Leon (maternal side) and Eddie Gutierrez (paternal side). This, as she is the eldest daughter of actors Lotlot de Leon and Ramin Christopher Gutierrez.
Janine started her career in showbiz in 2011 after joining GMA Network. She would later star in the remake of Villa Quintana in 2013, where she portrayed the role of Lynette, followed by other roles in serials like More Than Words, Dangwa, Encantadia (2016), Legally Blind, Victor Magtanggol, and Dragon Lady.
In January 2021, she moved to ABS-CBN, the first artist to do so since the franchise debacle the previous year. She then starred in Marry Me, Marry You, Sleep With Me, Dirty Linen, and Lavender Fields.
Soon, she will be starring in an upcoming series with boyfriend Jericho Rosales, as well as the Netflix original drama Balaraw. Janine is also slated to do a film with Lav Diaz.
