The movie is a certified Valentine’s season blockbuster film.
In a post uploaded by movie production giant Viva Films, it announced that The Loved One, which is top-billed by Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales, has crossed a major threshold.
In just nine days since it made its premiere last February 11, the film directed by Irene Emma Villamor has reached PHP110 million in the box-office.
The caption read, “Patuloy kaming nagpapasalamat sa umaapaw niyong pagmamahal at suporta, Yearners! The Loved One is now on its 2nd Blockbuster Week!“
Aside from the Philippines, the movie has also been released internationally with screenings having started in select countries and territories worldwide.
Prior to Friday’s announcement, it was first revealed on Thursday that the movie grossed PHP95 million during its first full week in theaters—which include the Valentine’s Day last Saturday, February 14.
This project is not the first for the two superstars, who previously starred in another picture, Baler in 2008 and the adaptation of the Korean drama Green Rose in 2010.
