The trending series was also recently renewed for a season.
Romantic drama series Heated Rivalry will soon become available for Philippine subscribers of streaming giant HBO Max. The hit Canadian program starring Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie will stream beginning Friday, December 19.
The six-episode first season of the show, which was adapted from Rachel Reid’s critically acclaimed Game Changers book series, debuted in late November in the United States and Australia to much fanfare.
Its launch also comes just in time for the season finale on Boxing Day Friday, December 26.
Heated Rivalry was originally created for Canadian streaming service Crave, with the story revolving around rival hockey players Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Stories).
Shane and Ilya Rozanov are the biggest stars in Major League Hockey. It starts off with a secret fling between the two fresh-faced rookies, which would evolve into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery.
“Over the next eight years, the pair chase glory on the ice while struggling to navigate their feelings off it. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love,” HBO Max furthered the synopsis of the program.
Created by the award-winning Canadian writer-director-producer Jacob Tierney, Heated Rivalry also stars François Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Sophie Nélisse and Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova.
Meanwhile, due to its success, the show was given a renewal in the midst of its first season, as announced by Crave recently.
