The company, however, did not make any confirmations or outright denial.

In a letter sent to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Tuesday, December 9, media giant ABS-CBN Corporation wrote a clarification regarding an article published on by Bilyonaryo.

Specifically, it was about the report where it was said that the company is ramping up its talks with the Manny Villar-owned TV network ALLTV as the Kapamilya network’s TV5 partnership hangs on the balance amid an issue on the remittance of revenues.

In the report, Bilyonaryo said that an unnamed source said that ABS-CBN is in talks with AllTV for a “possible content collaboration following the termination of its deal with TV5 of telecom and infrastructure tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan by the end of the year.”

It also added, “Life has indeed come full circle for ABS-CBN as it stands on the verge of returning to its old Channel 2 frequency, now weaker after the sale of its main transmission facilities and towers, which it lost when its franchise was denied by a vindictive President Rodrigo Duterte five years ago. ‘It shows when one door closes another opens,’ Babbler said.

The article continued: “Kapamilya fans have been on edge since TV5 recently issued a termination letter to ABS-CBN, first reported by Bilyonaryo, over the network’s alleged failure to remit TV5’s share of revenues from ABS-CBN shows like “Batang Quiapo” and “ASAP.”

In response, ABS-CBN Corporation simply wrote, “ABS-CBN has an existing content supply partnership with AllTV which commenced on May 13, 2024. This partnership remains in effect.”

The content provider is referring to the partnership it forged with the TV station, which allowed its programs like It’s Showtime, TV Patrol, Magandang Buhay, and its archived programs air on channel 2.

Notably, the frequency was the formerly operated by ABS-CBN until the network was forced to end its terrestrial TV and radio operations following the non-renewal of its franchise in 2020.

Meanwhile, ABS-CBN and TV5 have not yet shared any development regarding the status of their partnership, which is supposed to be a five-year content supply agreement that should run until 2028.
