The management company said that they stand for respect and decency across all spaces.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 6, Viva Artists Agency (VAA) said that it is “aware” of the leaked private conversations between members of a prominent fan community, which it identified to be those belonging to RabGel Kulties, who made “inappropriate comments” about two of the company’s artists.
While it did not directly mention the names of both stars, these messages were directed toward Ashtine Olviga and Andres Muhlach.
The company furthered, “These do not reflect the values we are trying to foster and cultivate within our fan communities and support groups. We understand how troubling these comments are to those affected by them.”
“We want to be clear: respect and decency are non-negotiable across all spaces connected to our artists’ fandoms, whether in public or in private,” VAA reminded.
In addition, the company assured all concerned parties that they are in the process of conducting their own investigation to better understand how this happened, which will help them determine the appropriate next steps with all parties involved, and to enforce accountability for their actions.
“While we recognize that it is natural for different fan communities to have different views, it’s important that conversations, whether online or off, don’t cross lines,” stressed the management.
Lastly, “We’re committed to building a space that’s respectful, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone, hand-in-hand with our valued fan communities. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to continue holding themselves and each other to higher standards.”
FANCLUB’S RESPONSE
In its own social media post, RABGEL Kulties announced that admin abcdefjk has stepped down from their administrative role, effective immediately.
“This decision follows an internal review finding that the said admin did not meet our high leadership standards for the RABGEL community. We thank abcdefjk for their contributions but maintain that a flourishing community environment is our top priority,” it noted.
“In addition, we want to clarify recent online misinformation: username abcdefjk is not VAA Khy, and username MUJ1FILM is not Angela Muji. We would also like to reiterate that Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji were never added to or involved with the unofficial GDM,” the group clarified.
They then expressed their sincere apologies to the mentioned artists, Ashtine Olviga and Andres Muhlach, for the offensive and inappropriate actions that occurred within the unofficial GDM.
“Specifically, we condemn the derogatory remarks, bodyshaming, and sexualizing language used by certain members. We are deeply sorry for the trouble this has caused the entire RABGEL Community, and to Rabin Angeles and Angela Muji,” RabGel Kulties’ statement ended.
