SEVENTEEN’s S.Coups, Mingyu to debut as CxM duo with ‘Hype Vibes’ this September

In a teaser released on Tuesday, September 2 (Manila time), Pledis Entertainment shared the first teaser of the upcoming duo comprising of two members of its boy band SEVENTEEN.

Team leader S.Coups and Mingyu are set to be launched as a sub-unit, CxM, with their first release being the mini-album entitled ‘Hype Vibes’.

In the 1-minute-and-41-second long preview, a mixture real-world and animated imagery enticed fans, CARATs, on what the new duo will offer come September 27 at 6:00 pm (Korean time).

Featured at the beginning of the teaser clip were 3D characters Kuute and Mante, while the two members went on to invite each other for an event, which would turn out to be party at the beach.

As of writing, the video has garnered over 425,000 views on YouTube.

CxM will be the fourth sub-unit of SEVENTEEN, following the trio BSS, JxW of Jeonghan and Wonwoo, and Hoshi X Woozi.

Prior to the clip’s reveal, S.Coups and Mingyu were spotted together in Hawaii last July, with the two even posting a series of content on social media.

SEVENTEEN was launched in 2015 as a thirteen-member group and is known for their songs like ‘Pretty U,’ ‘Aju Nice,’ ‘Don’t Wanna Cry,’ ‘Clap,’ ‘Hit,’ ‘Left and Right,’ ‘Hot,’ ‘Super,’ and ‘God Of Music,’ among others.

Last May, in conjunction with their 10th anniversary, SEVENTEEN dropped their fifth full-length album titled ‘Happy Burstday,’ which carried the lead single, ‘Thunder’.
