It will be a new power tandem.
On Friday, August 29, Dreamscape Entertainment officially announced the actor that will join Asia’s Superstar, Kathryn Bernardo, in an upcoming ABS-CBN drama series.
Starring alongside her is none other than singer-actor James Reid, who is making his teleserye comeback after more than eight years.
“The powerhouse tandem you never saw coming. Asia’s Superstar — Kathryn Bernardo and Multimedia Prince — James Reid, together in a teleserye from Dreamscape Entertainment,” the post read.
At present, the additional details about the show are still kept under wraps.
In past interview with Karen Davila, James first shared his project, and told, “I have a teleserye that currently is in the works. I will be working with a female lead… a very talented actress. I can’t announce just yet. But in due time. We will be taping this year.”
He also noted his excitement to both start the project and work with his still unnamed co-star that time, which majority of the netizens correctly guessed as Kathryn Bernardo.
James’ last full-length TV series was the 2016-17 drama series ‘Till I Met You,’ which was also produced by Dreamscape, and saw him star with his former reel and real-life partner, Nadine Lustre.
After their public break-up in 2020, James was slated to star in ‘Seoulmate’ with Momoland’s Nancy. However, the project was shelved amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and the free-to-air broadcast shutdown of ABS-CBN.
Since then, Reid concentrated on expanding his discography, and released his second album ‘Lovescene:’ in 2022.
