BINI makes historic debut at Coachella Music Festival

On Saturday, April 11 (Manila time), the Nation’s Girl Group BINI made headlines all over the country and several parts of the globe for their much-anticipated debut at the Coachella Music Festival.

The eight-member group composed of Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena was the first to mount their set on the Mojave stage of the festival, which is also where the likes of Ed Sheeran, Carly Rae Jepsen, Djo, Lizzo, Lola Young, Willow, and many others have performed in the past.

They were off to bombastic start as they pumped up the crowd with their singles Shagidi, Zero Pressure, Out Of My Head in the opening part of their showcase.

After a quick ment, the team delivered a strong four-song segment that included their songs Karera, Salamin, Salamin, Blink Twice, and Cherry On Top.

To cap their 45-minute-long program, BINI brought to Coachella their newly-released song Blush, as well as Bikini, and the song that started the road to national and global recognition for them, Pantropiko.

As per reports, their portion was one of the most-talked about for the day, garnering over 2 million tweets on X (formerly Twitter) (Manila time).

Meanwhile, in their post after the performance, BINI shared, “We’re beyond honored to represent the PH at Coachella! To everyone who watched, danced, and sang with us… 2, 3… maraming salamat sa inyong lahat!

After this, they are expected to return next week for their second weekend on April 17 (Los Angeles time) and the morning of April 18 (Manila time).

Prior to this, the team released last Thursday their newest extended play, Signals, which carries the songs Blush, as well as Unang Kilig, Honey Honey, and more.

Their docu-series, which was produced by iWant and ABS-CBN News, also made its way to streaming giant Netflix on April 10.

BINI has also been confirmed for the Billboard Women In Music later this April, where they will be conferred the Global Force In Music award.

On top of that, they are also having a performance at the GRAMMY Museum for the series Global Spin Live.
