It will also be a “collab” movie between three major studios in the country.
On Thursday, August 21, the new project starring three housemates of the recent ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’ was officially announced.
Kapuso actors Will Ashley and Dustin Yu and Kapamilya actress Bianca de Vera are set to star in the upcoming Star Cinema, GMA Pictures, and Regal Films production entitled ‘Love You So Bad’.
The said movie will be written by Crystal Hazel San Miguel and directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar.
In their interview, Will shared his gratitude for being part of the project, sharing that the film is a “dream come true” for him and his co-stars.
“Nakaka-proud na mapabilang sa proyektong ito,” he stressed his happiness about being included in the lead cast of this movie.
Meanwhile, Dustin revealed that he is a fan of “Direk Mae’s” works, with ‘Crazy Beautiful You’ on top of his list.
“Super honored talaga… I’m happy [and] nilo-look forward ko na mag-taping, actually,” he said before remembering how he got the news about the movie while he was at the GMA office.
As for Bianca, she admitted about feeling “overwhlemed with everything” that is happening.
“Parang kahapon lang, kalalabas lang namin ng Bahay ni Kuya at parang kahapon lang, nag-Big Night… And now, we are doing this project, this milestone with Regal, GMA, and Star Cinema,” she reflected.
According to screenwriter Crystal San Miguel, the story was inspired by the 1998 film ‘Dahil Mahal Na Mahal Kita’ of Rico Yan, Claudine Barretto, and Diether Ocampo.
The new film will instead only share similarity with the material by being one that will be in tune with the current times and being a classic love triangle story.
‘Love You So Bad’ will mark the next collaboration film between Star Cinema and GMA Pictures after the mega-blockbuster ‘Hello, Love, Again’ in 2024, as well as the Kapamilya studio’s first with Regal after awhile.
Aside from that, it will also in effect be a reunion project between Will and Bianca, who previously co-starred in the GMA and ABS-CBN co-produced series ‘Unbreak My Heart’ in 2023.
At present, other cast members and the target playdate for ‘LYSB’ are still kept under wraps.
