Fresh from the success of her back-to-back concert with the Asia’s Songbird.
On Saturday, August 16, the Unkabogable Phenomenal Box-Office Superstar Vice Ganda returned to ABS-CBN’s popular noontime variety program ‘It’s Showtime’ after a week-long break.
This, as she recently held the two-night ‘Super Divas: The Concert’ with Regine Velasquez-Alcasid at the Araneta Coliseum last August 8 and 9, 2025.
Her re-appearance also happens days after she became the talk of the town following her skits and jokes during the said concert.
One of which was her version of a viral British advertisement that she localized to “jetski holidays,” a clear reference to the pronouncement made by ex-President Rodrigo Duterte about riding the said water vehicle to the West Philippine Sea in 2016.
Because of that, many politicians and other personalities have weighed in on the matter, with the Davao City Council, where the currently-detained leader was elected Mayor last May, issuing a letter of condemnation over the skit.
Vice, who had just flown back from her trip with husband Ion Perez, did not make any direct comment on the issue on her first day back.
Instead, she greeted everyone by saying her thanks for the support that she received during and after the show.
“Sa lahat ng tao, sa lahat ng madlang people na nagmamalasakit, araw-araw ko pong ipinagdiriwang ang pagmamahal ninyo sa akin. Maraming salamat,” she said before treating the audience to free meals at a fastfood chain.
Meanwhile, Vice was recently named as a Best Actor nominee at the FAMAS Awards for her portrayal of Bambi in the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival entry ‘And The Breadwinner Is…’
Its director-screenwriter Jun Lana also earned a spot in the Best Director category, along with Vice’s co-stars Eugene Domingo (Best Supporting Actress), and Jhong Hilario (Best Supporting Actor).
The said film is also nominated for Best Picture, Best Sound, Best Musical Score, and Best Cinematography.
