A heartwarming interaction between the two actresses.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Kapuso star Barbie Forteza plugged her movie ‘P77,’ which hit theaters last July 30.
She wrote, “Good morning! Happy weekend! Please watch P77! It’s still showing in cinemas nationwide!”
Kapamilya actress Maris Racal, who stars in ‘Sunshine,’ then quoted it and replied, “Suppooort!!!”
That prompted Barbie to respond with a simple “thank you” note.
The small, but genuine interaction between the two stars have since led to reactions from many netizens, with some even suggesting that they collaborate for a project together in the future.
Prior to which, Barbie shared her excitement to watch ‘Sunshine’ in a video by Goldwin Reviews, where she said, “I can’t wait to watch Sunshine!“
‘Sunshine’ is directed and written by Antoinette Jadaone and it is a drama that follows the titular character (portrayed by Maris Racal) and her journey as a gymnast who suddenly learns about her pregnancy while preparing for the Olympic try-outs.
‘Sunshine’ first premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2024, and won in the Berlin International Film Festival for Crystal Bear for the Best Film last February.
Also part of the said locally-produced movie are Jennica Garcia, Meryll Soriano, Elijah Canlas, Xyriel Manabat, and child star Annika Co.
Meanwhile, in ‘P77,’ Barbie plays the role of Luna, who enters her job as a cleaner of the eponymous Penthouse 77, where horrifying events would occur.
Artists led by Gina Pareño, Jackie Lou Blanco, JC Alcantara, and child actor Euwenn Mikaell are also included in the cast of the film written by award-winning Anj Atienza and Xtian Julao and under the direction of Derick Cabrido.
