The actress-comedienne delivered the news on social media.
In a post on her personal Instagram account, Rufa Mae Quinto attached photos of her with husband Trevor Magallanes and their daughter, Athena.
Through the caption, she sorrowfully announced the passing of Magallanes, writing, “I’m deeply saddened by this development. Hope [you] give us time to mourn his lost especially my daughter. Just pray for us that we will get thru this by the help of God!“
She then revealed that even her and the immediate family of her husband are still unaware of the exact details of what happened.
“We are still gathering factual information about his death. Even us or his immediate family are still verifying what happened. So we kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations about his death.”
Rufa also added that she will be heading to the states on Friday, August 1, with their daughter and wished for the public to wait for the official announcement surrounding his death from her and Trevor’s family.
She also requested for respect and prayers in this time of trial for her family.
Quinto ended her statement with a short message directed to her late husband, which read: “Hanggang sa huli…. Hanggang sa muli, Mahal kita Trev.“
The post has since garnered an outpour of messages from the public and her fellow celebrities, with Ogie Alcasid, Jaya, Ruffa Gutierrez, and Erik Santos among those that expressed their condolences to the bereaved loved ones of the deceased.
Rufa Mae and Trevor tied the knot in the Philippines in 2016, with the actress-comedienne giving birth to their daughter the following year.
