‘iWant ASAP’ ceases production after more than 7 years

The digital companion and gap show of the country’s longest-running Sunday musical variety show has ended its run.

The digital companion and gap show of the country’s longest-running Sunday musical variety show has ended its run.

Last Sunday, March 22, the online program iWant ASAP, which was hosted by Jeremy G, AC Bonifacio, and Emilio Daez, aired a special edition looking back on their favorite moments from the past few years.

The said episode happens to be also the last of the long-running show that has been airing online since November 2018.

After the end of the said online show, ASAP mainstay Robi Domingo, who once hosted the gap show as part of the original line-up comprising of Donny Pangilinan, Maymay Entrata, and Edward Barber, shared his own fondest memories during his time there.

From the stage lights to the screens in your homes, what a journey it’s been,” he opened his caption for the Instagram post containing some snapshots during the early years of iWant ASAP.

Today, we close a chapter that has been more than just a show to me… it’s been family, growth, and a constant reminder of what it means to be Kapamilya. From the early days of ASAP Chillout to what we became today, I’ve witnessed firsthand how love for music and each other can evolve, adapt, and endure,” he continued.

Robi then sent his gratitude to people behind the scenes, his fellow hosts, artists, and viewers for letting them be part of their Sundays.

This may be the end of this chapter, but the heart of being Kapamilya will always live on. Maraming salamat. Hanggang sa muli. This has been IWANT ASAP,” Domingo concluded his post.

iWant ASAP launched in November 2018, in conjunction with the main show’s reformat as ASAP Natin ‘To and the relaunch of the streaming service iWant.

It served as the replacement for ASAP and was originally formatted with an interactive format as it aired slightly earlier online and via the namesake streaming platform.

Upon the launch of Kapamilya Online Live in 2020, it was picked up as a “gap show,” effectively filling in the commercial gaps in between bodies of the main program.
