It is home to over 1,500 employees of the low-cost carrier in the country.
On Wednesday, July 9, leading regional budget airline AirAsia officially opened its new headquarters, dubbed as “The Red Horizon,” in Pasay City.
According to the company, the new facility has drawn significant inspiration from the Filipino culture, with the space reflecting modern values of inclusivity, collaboration, and national pride.
Its four key function rooms have also been given the names The Philippines, and the major island groups od Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, which AirAsia told symbolizes “unity and regional representation.”
Furthermore, the headquarters also features dedicated prayer rooms, a fully equipped gym, and a space dubbed as the ‘People First Stop’ that serves as a hub for support, connection, and care and a safe venue for mental health pep talks for those who need a moment to pause.
Tony Fernandes, the chief executive officer of AirAsia’s parent Capital A Group, spoke during the opening event.
He said, “I will still remember coming to the old office and the greeting I got. The energy of this company is unbelievable. It is true, there is no AirAsia company like this.”
Fernandes also reflected on how hige the company has grown over the years, sharing that it started with two planes to 255 and from serving 200,000 passengers to over 90 million.
In fact, he also revaled that AirAsia is close to hitting its 1 billionth passenger since the operations began 23 years ago.
“Everyone has maintained their humility, maintained their hard work, and most important about AirAsia is our passion to be the best,” the CEO added.
Also present during the HQ’s opening were politicial figures, such as Senator Erwin Tulfo, together with airport and aviation officials.
AirAsia was founded in 2001 and is a leading low-cost carrier with licenses to operate in five Southeast Asian countries—the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia.
It also boasts an extensive network, connecting 130 destinations in the region.
