The Kapatid radio station has a new look and shows.
On Monday, May 4, a revamped morning line-up immediately greeted listeners and viewers of 105.9 True FM and its visual counterparts True TV and livestream online.
At exactly 3:00 am, the station signed on with the new hour-long newscast anchored by former Radyo Pilipinas personality Rigie Malinao.
The replacement for the music program Gising! Gising!, the show dishes out the biggest headlines in the metro and around the country.
It is the new leadoff to the pre-morning primetime show Good Morning, Bayan, where Malinao joins as the new co-anchor of Ruth Cabal from 4:00 am to 6:00 am.
Coinciding with the shakeup, the program also moves to the main True FM studio after formerly utilizing the One PH booth for its broadcasts, as well as a new set of title card and graphics package.
Other parts of True FM’s morning grid continues to remain the same, with Ted Failon at DJ Chacha airing from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and Sana Lourd with Lourd De Veyra from 10:00 am to 11:30 am.
H2H: Heart To Heart with Kuya Poy, meanwhile, has been slightly adjusted to start at 11:30 am, followed by afternoon staples Cristy FerMinute at 1:00 pm, and Wanted Sa Radyo at 2:00 pm.
Taking over the 4:00 pm timeslot is the new drivetime program Love Stories & Songs, which is hosted by DJ Maki Rena, who joins the network after her stints at MOR 101.9 and Win Radio 91.5.
This new show replaces the public service program Sagot Kita! and the newscast Balita Pilipinas.
Love Stories & Songs will air each weekday afternoon until 5:30 pm.
True FM will then simulcast TV5’s Una Sa Lahat with Jiggy Manicad and the flagship newscast Frontline Pilipinas with Cheryl Cosim and Julius Babao from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
Following the end of Shout Out with Laila Chikadora last Friday, May 1, a new duo takes over the primetime slot of the station from 8:00 to 9:30 pm.
Tony Toni of the long-running Boys Night Out returns to radio via True Confessions, where he is joined by DJ Laboching.
Following them, Bro. Jun Banaag takes the airwaves with Dr. Love from 9:30 to 11:00 pm.
As a cherry on top to the revitalized weekday programming, True FM also formally adopted a new logo that succeeds its former icon that was used from the station’s move to 105.9 FM from 92.3 FM back in November 2024.
Now, the station’s frequency has been given a prominent spot in the upper half of the circular logo, while keeping elements of its predecessor’s look.
True FM is available on 105.9 in Mega Manila, its provincial stations in Cebu, Ormoc, Tacloban, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro, True TV on Cignal TV channel 19 and Cignal Play, and on social media.
