She has faced the criticisms being thrown at the series.
Through social networking site Facebook, GMA headwriter and creative consultant for the iconic telefantasya ‘Encantadia,’ Suzette Doctolero, wrote a lengthy post about the program.
“Kasama sa mga changes ang title: Encantadia Chronicles, hindi Encantadia na lang. ibig sabihin ito ay kalipunan ng sari saring kwento ng mga
pangyayari, lugar at mga characters mula sa ating Encantadia Universe,” she opened her message.
In response to the mixed reactions from the viewing public, Suzette wrote “Nagulat at natuwa ako sa sari saring reaksyon (lalo na sa 2nd week eps). Nakita namin kung gaano ninyo kamahal ang Encantadia. Salamat.“
Doctolero furthered that she wanted to include numerous elements into the story, but there would be too much to be discussed in one book.
“Gusto ko sanang ikwento sa inyo ang maraming bagay kaya lang ay hindi naman ito libro, na sa isang upuan ay maiintindihan ninyo ang lahat ng mga nangyari, pangyayari at mga kwento. Daily ito kaya magiging spoiler lang ako. Ayaw.“
The creative mind behind the ‘ Encantadia’ franchise added, “Gusto ko lang ipaalala sa lahat na ang Devas ay part ng Encantadia universe. Ang alam pa lang ng audience ay katumbas ito ng langit. Hanggang doon lang.”
Then she pondered, what do viewers and fans, known as Encantadiks, of the 20-year-old fantasy franchise know about the fictional place, which is known to be the equivalent of heaven.
“Pero bukod doon ay ano ang Devas? Ano ang socio political structure nito? Ano ang culture mayroon dito? Ano rankings ng mga naninirahan doon? Wala pang ganyan,” with Doctolero quipping about the possibility of doing ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Devas’ in the future.
She then emphasized the story of the current “book” of the franchise, “Basta itong Encantadia Chronicles Sanggre ay sa kwento ni Danaya/Pirena at ng mga bagong gen ng Sanggre nakafocus.”
“Hayaan ninyo muna kaming magkwento. Salamat,” she requested the audience and Encantadiks.
Her post comes after the criticisms aired by followers of the program online, who have expressed frustration about the flow of the story, among other elements of the show.
Some of those were related to the exit of Mikee Quintos’ Lira and Kate Valdez’s Mira, both beloved characters from the 2016 requel, where many were baffled about their lack of screentime and their rather hasty fall to the Mine-a-ve warriors during the siege of Sapiro.
In ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,’ the spotlight has been put on Sang’gre Danaya (Sanya Lopez) and her half-mortal, half-Lirean daughter Terra, played by Bianca Umali, who is the ‘Chosen One’ to save Encantadia from the conquerors.
Pirena (Glaiza de Castro) also plays an instrumental role in this book of the franchise, along with the new generation Sang’gres, Flamarra (Faith da Silva), Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), and Deia (Angel Guardian).
