On Monday, April 21, GMA Network officially introduced its upcoming drama series titled ‘Beauty Empire,’ which is another collaboration with pan-continental streaming platform Viu and production house Creazion Studios.

Tapped to play roles in the new Kapuso serye is a powerhouse cast led by ‘Kapuso Primetime Princess,’ Barbie Forteza, and the ‘new-gen kontrabida,’ Kyline Alcantara.

Starring alongside them are real-life Filipina beauty queens in Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz and Miss World 1993 second runner-up Ruffa Gutierrez.

The series will also mark the first full-length acting project in the Kapuso network of singer-actor Sam Concepcion and K-pop star Choi Bo-min. Sid Lucero and Chai Fonacier are also part of the ensemble.

For GMA’s senior vice president for programming, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, ‘Beauty Empire’ aims to give inspiration to those in the beauty industry and empower them to strive for success.

She also thanked their partners for teaming up with the station.

Viu Philippines’ Country Head Vinchi Sy-Quia noted that the platform has “always been about bringing premium Asian content to the rest of the world.

Creazion Studios Chief Executive Officer RJ Agustin, for his part, thanked both the Kapuso network and Viu for the collaboration.

The story of ‘Beauty Empire’ is said to be delving into the competition between women in the cutthroat industry, where not only beauty, but also ambition and power take centerstage.

The series set to hit TV screens and streaming devices soon, according to a report by GMA Integrated News.

This upcoming drama is not the first collaboration between Viu and GMA, as they previously teamed up in projects like ‘Unbreak My Heart’ (with ABS-CBN) and the ongoing primetime mystery series ‘SLAY’.
