On Tuesday, April 1, longtime showbiz news segment host Iya Villania-Arellano made her comeback on GMA’s flagship newscast, 24 Oras.
Her familiar voice greeted viewer as the title card faded for the first body of her portion, where she also exclaimed that she is indeed back — and to a degree, that it is not an April Fools’ Day prank.
Her return to the Kapuso news program comes almost two months since she gave birth to her fifth child with ‘Biyahe Ni Drew’ host, Drew Arellano, last February 11.
The Kapuso hosts gave the healthy baby girl the name Anya Love, who follows their four elder children, namely Primo, Leon, Alana, and Astro.
Meanwhile, during her maternity leave from ’24 Oras,’ multiple personalities temporarily took over the presenting role for the showbiz news portion, led by the likes of Jillian Ward, Shaira Diaz, Ashley Rivera, and Janeena Chan.
