The previous ‘Vice’ has expressed her support to the ‘Unkabogable Star’.
On Thursday, January 2, Vice Ganda returned anew to a mall in Cubao, Quezon City to attend a special screening event of her 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry ‘And The Breadwinner Is’.
This occasion was made special, as it was graced by none other than formet Vice President and current Angat Buhay chairperson, Atty. Leni Robredo.
In stills uploaded by Star Cinema, the two were seen interacting in person, with staff members of the non-governmental organizatiin also present to watch the movie together.
After seeing the ‘Breadwinner’ in full, Atty. Robredo said that she already thought that she was “prepared” enough to witness it and Vice’s performance.
“Akala ko prepared ako eh. I’ve listened to a lot of reviews already [and] maraming nagsasabi na sobrang husay ni Vice. Pero, hindi ko inaasahan na ganoong kahusay,” and described that she has never seen the popular host-comedian in such dramatic act before.
“Mabigat siya in the way na ang pakiramdam ko ay nagbibigay-pugay sa sakripisyo ng napakaraming Pilipino,” the former VP added.
Vice, in her own speech, has also expressed her thanks to Atty. Leni for her and the Angat Buhay team’s attendance to the event, and also described her as a “breadwinner” in the context of once being a top-ranking official of the Philippines.
She also likened her character Bambi to the role of ex-VP Robredo in national politics, where Vice said that she was not “valued as much as she deserved.”
“Ang tingin ko sa yo, ikaw din si Bambi. Katulad ka rin ni Bambi [at] isa ka ring breadwinner na parang hindi rin napahalagahan ng lahat.”
This is the second major screening for Vice’s movie during the first two days of the year.
On New Year’s Day, January 1, BINI members Maloi, Jhoanna, Aiah, and Mikha attended a screening, where they were later greeted personally by Vice Ganda.
‘And The Breadwinner Is,’ along with nine other entries at the 50th MMFF, will run in theaters nationwide until Tuesday, January 7.
