On Tuesday, October 22, the ‘Magpasikat’ week-long anniversary special continued on ABS-CBN’s noontime show ‘It’s Showtime.’
For the second day, it was the team of Kim Chiu, Ogie Alcasid, MC Muah, and Lassy Marquez that took the stage to deliver their 20-minute spectacle grounded on the theme of “self-love.”
Alcasid opened the “Four-tastic” squad’s performance by showing his struggles as a musician as new talents continue to spring up.
He delivered it by singing an original song while playing the piano on a rotating platform.
MC and Lassy’s part revealed their challenges as comedians, where they need to continue performing and making people happy despite their own personal circumstances.
The comic duo hanged their hands onto a bar as they were lifted above the stage.
In line with their team’s earlier gravity-defying stunts, Kim Chiu then made an interpretative dance mid- air while Morisette Amon sang Sarah Geronimo’s song ‘Isa Pang Araw.’
Chiu’s part shared her struggle of giving something fresh in a competitive showbiz landscape.
The four mainstays’ act will be followed on Wednesday, October 23, by the performance of Vhong Navarro, Amy Perez, Darren Espanto, and Ion Perez.
Winners of the fifteenth ‘Magpasikat’ will be named on Saturday, October 26.
The ‘Magpasikat’ anniversary special began in 2010 as a way for the hosts of ‘It’s Showtime’ to express their talents and deliver spectacles for the ‘Madlang People.’
The 2024 edition is particularly historic for the program, as it is also the first time that the noontime show is celebrating the milestone on GMA-7.
‘Showtime’ began airing on the Kapuso network’s main channel in April 2024, more than nine months since it began airing on the secondary channel GTV.
Although, apart from the network, it is also available on Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and ALLTV, on top of the digital platforms Kapamilya Online Live and iWantTFC.
