From September 16 to October 6, ‘Asia’s Romantic Balladeer,’ Christian Bautista, toured 11 cities in Japan as part of the ‘Asian Pops 2024’ concert tour organized by Min-On Concert Association, which is dedicated to fostering global musical and performing arts exchanges
Bautista shared the stage with fellow Asian talents like Alexandra Bounxouei from Laos and Raisa from Indonesia, making each show a celebration of Asian music.
Held over 24 days, he completed 13 shows in various cities like Tokyo, Kobe, and Nagoya, amd proudly performed his original Tagalog song “Kapit” in his setlist to share the richness of Pinoy music.
Christian also learned Japanese songs as a genuine effort to engage with the audience in Japanese, creating meaningful connections that went beyond language.
“I’m incredibly fulfilled to see my music reach diverse audiences,” Christian shared.
“Every performance is an opportunity to share a piece of my culture and connect with people from different backgrounds,” he added.
Building on his international popularity, especially with his iconic hit “The Way You Look at Me,” Christian’s music has topped charts across Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand. The song continues to capture hearts from all over the continent, and recently, got a rendition from Indonesian pop star Nyoman Paul.
Recently, the Filipino singer also collaborated with Bunga Citra Lestari on “Tetaplah di Hatiku,” which has further boosted his acclaim.
On top of his thriving music career, Christian is also a judge on GMA’s talent competition “The Clash” and as a performer in the weekly noontime show “All Out Sundays.”
