The production company is set to do their local adaptation of the story.
During their mid-year upfront presentation on Tuesday, April 23, Thai content production giant GMMTV announced that they are set to do a local remake of time-slip melodrama ‘Scarlet Heart.’
Set to be aired later this year, ‘Scarlet Heart Thailand’ will have a star-studded cast, led by Tu Tontawan, Win Metawin, Tay Tawan, Nanon Korapat, Fourth Nattawat, Phuwin Tangsakyuen, Perth Tanapon, and Force Jiratchapong.
The upcoming Thai version will be directed by Fon Kanittha Kwunyoo, who is also behind series like ‘Home School,’ ‘23.5,’ and episodes of the ‘U-Prince’ anthology.
‘Scarlet Heart’ originated from the Chinese novel ‘Bubu Jingxin,’ which was later adapted as a television series in 2011.
In 2016, South Korea made its own star-studded adaptation titled ‘Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.’
That saw a cast ensemble formed by IU, Lee Joong Gi, Kang Ha Neul, Hong Jong Hyun, Byun Baekhyun, Nam Joo Hyuk, Ji Soo, Kim San ho, Yoon Sun Woo, Kang Han Na, Jin Ki Joo, among many others.
The Korean version also notably became a sensation across Asia, with the program having been re-aired in the Philippines multiple times.
Barring any delays in the production or broadcast, ‘Scarlet Heart Thailand’ is slated to premiere before the end of this year on Thailand TV station GMM25.
