The certified blockbuster alliance has been assembled once again.
On Sunday, June 7, during the ABS-CBN newscast TV Patrol Weekend, a major film announcement was made.
The Kapuso primetime royalties Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, who previously starred together in the mega-blockbuster movie Rewind, which grossed over PHP900 million in the box-office, are back for a new movie.
The title of the upcoming project has been revealed to be Remember and will be under ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema, Agosto Dos Pictures, APT Entertainment, and Regal Entertainment.
It will also mark their reunion with director Mae Cruz-Alviar, whom they worked with in the above-mentioned 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival entry.
In their interview at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, ahead of their departure for Quebec, Canada, where scenes of the movie will be filmed, DongYan formally announced the project.
Dingdong said, “Ready na kaming umalis papuntang Quebec. Sisimulan na namin ang isang napaka-espesyal na pelikula after three years.“
He also said that “it feels good” to work again with the same team behind Rewind and Regal.
“Naaalala namin all the good memories na nangyari sa amin… We’re just so excited to do this project,” he added.
As for Marian, she noted that it is already the “perfect time” for their next project as a couple.
“Kanina, nag-uusap kami on the way here. Sabi nga namin, ‘Ilang years na ba ‘yun? (Rewind)‘ Sabi (sa amin), three years na pala!“
She continued: “So sabi ko, ito na pala siguro ang tamang panahon ulit para gawin namin (ang isang pelikula). At the same time, ‘yung kuwento talaga… naku! Sigurado akong mai-in-love talaga sila sa kuwento ng Remember.”
Dingdong noted that the movie will be screened in theaters nationwide and abroad this year.
